Trading Hours

Market Trading Hours

Regular session hours for the world’s major markets — forex, stocks, indices, commodities and crypto — in one place.

General market reference, not Yurofex trading hours. Regular sessions only — public holidays, early closes, auctions and extended hours are not shown, and open / closed does not reflect them. Liquidity is thinner around the open, the close and holidays, so spreads can widen and prices can gap.

Good to know

What can change
a session.

→How sessions work

Indices, stocks, commodities and futures follow the sessions of the exchange where they are listed, and some pause for lunch or a daily break. Currencies have no single exchange: activity passes between Sydney, Tokyo, London and New York through the weekday, and those “sessions” are conventions that sources define up to an hour apart.

Activity is usually highest while London and New York overlap — normally 13:00–17:00 London time. Cryptocurrencies trade continuously in their underlying markets, including weekends. Prices can gap between one session’s close and the next open, particularly over weekends.

→Time zones and daylight saving

Times are shown in UTC so every market can be compared on one clock. Choose My time to convert them to your device’s time zone; each card also shows the market’s local hours. Conversions follow daylight-saving changes automatically.

The US, Europe and Australia change their clocks on different dates, and Japan, China, Hong Kong and India do not change them at all. For a few weeks each year the gaps between sessions shift by an hour.

→Holiday closures

Public holidays and exchange closures can shorten or cancel sessions. Each exchange publishes its own holiday calendar, and closures in one financial centre can reduce liquidity in related markets elsewhere. Positions held over a closure remain exposed to price gaps when the market reopens.
